a life changing ministry. New Destiny Christian Center
began with small and humble beginnings. Early in
their Christian walk, Larry & Torrona Tillman always
exhibited God’s love toward His people. Desiring a
place for the people of God to meet and be taught the
Word of God line upon line, precept upon precept, God
led them to establish By His Spirit Ministries.
Larry stepped out in faith with his loving and
supportive wife and two small children and prayerfully
began By His Spirit Ministries in the lower level of
their Merrillville home.
His Spirit Ministries offered saints a weekly prayer
service and a Tuesday night bible study which was
eventually moved to Lee’s Inn in Merrillville, Indiana.
It was during this time that God birthed deep within
Larry and Torrona’s spirit the necessity to further
shepherd and encourage the saints. As such, they
began holding Sunday services the first Sunday in
December 2002 in their home.
God began to further unveil their destiny, Larry and
Torrona began to understand that the Father’s divine
plan was not only for them to teach and encourage the
people of God by His Spirit, but that they should also
began to apostolically unlock and reveal the destiny
that God promised for every one of his saints. By
His Spirit Ministries began a transformation resulting
in the creation of a ministry designed to show people
that God wanted to give His people a new destiny and new
beginnings. It is this life-changing
transformation that led the Tillman’s to change the name
of the ministry to “New Destiny Christian Center”.
August 2004, the church moved to its current location,
21 West 78th Place in Merrillville, Indiana. As
the ministry continued to grow and God continued to move
by His Spirit upon the lives of His people, God promoted
Larry to the Office of the Apostle in October 2007.
The anointing that rests on their lives strongly
encourages and challenges God’s people to achieve their
new destiny in Christ.
Destiny is a church of prayer, praise, and power, where
the Word of God is consistently proclaimed through
teaching and prophetic release. “It is declared
that in this house Father God will always receive his
glory and He will always receive His praise.”
